We invite you to become a part of our varied life as a congregation as we seek to serve the God who calls us to life that is vibrant and filled with the good hope of peace and love, the greatest of all gifts. Worship services at Westminster United Church take place in the Sanctuary each Sunday at 10:30am. Our worship begins with everyone, and then, after a time with the children, often with the Minister, they move off to their Church school classes. For the very young, Westminster United Church provides a nursery. Our minister provides a variety of worship experiences for all ages and stages of the spiritual journey. Music is an important part of our worship time, and we are currently enjoying the new and dynamic addition of a grand piano in our sanctuary.
Special services are held on Ash Wednesday (evening), Good Friday (morning), and Christmas Eve (early evening and late evening). Communion is celebrated several times during the year.
C.E. Squad is the term for Church/Sunday School at Westminster United. The program is team-focused, energetic and aimed to encourage a more unique and intriguing CE experience for the children. Don’t be intimidated by the name, our squad is always inclusive and welcomes new members! Interested? Passionate about children and Christian education?
We Welcome Your Music Selections! If you have any suggestions regarding music you’d like to hear played or hymns you’d like to sing, please feel free to contact Cynthia for piano music requests or Reverend Andrea Allan for hymn requests. Just click on the buttons to contact them.
Join the choir for fun and fellowship. No audition required, just a love of singing. The choir practices most Thursday evenings beginning at 7:00 p.m. in the sanctuary. See Steve Boothby or any choir member for more information.
Could you help out with our Casserole Ministry? We are ready to restock the freezer for the winter season. Filled containers can be brought to church. If you need an empty container, they are available in the kitchen. Anyone is welcome to give a frozen meal to anyone in the community who could use a hand. For more information please speak with Cheryl MacLean: firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Prayer Shawl Committee will meet again on the last Sunday of each month, beginning September 29th. We will be meeting at the Temple end of the Sanctuary. Note that the time is changed to 10 a.m. Come and enjoy time well spent together.
