The Westminster United Church Youth Group is an active group where we get together, not just to have fun, but also to help make the world a better place. For good measure, we slip in a few Biblical references, but our focus is on the here and now. We would rather do things than read about things!
In the past, we have been very active in helping out around the Church, in our community, and around the world. Youth have helped act and make props for the annual Christmas and Easter pageants, and helped cook sausages each year at Westminster's booth at the Elmira Maple Syrup Festival. We have volunteered at "Out of the Cold", a program run by local churches to give people without shelter some hot food and a warm place to sleep in the winter months, and we have held several very successful spaghetti dinner and bake sale fundraisers for "Out of the Cold", "Free the Children", the Humane Society, and others.
But it is not all about work! We also like to have fun with things like trips to Canada's Wonderland, Movie and Pizza nights, bowling, etc. Interested? Join us every Sunday morning!
