Westminster United Church is in need of several more Service Coordinators.  The Service Coordinator opens up the building prior to Sunday service, turns on the lights, makes sure the sound system is working, sets up the cross, greets people when they arrive, and looks for people to take part in the service, as needed, if no one has signed up in the Service Opportunities Book.  Also, they check with the minister if there is anything they need for the service and record attendance.  Following the service, the coordinator would put away things used in the service and turn off the sound system, and put away the cross.

Depending upon the number of Service Coordinator volunteers available, the role is rotated through about every six weeks.  If you are interested in becoming a Service Coordinator, please speak with Paul Warder or Lynn Macaulay.

Could you help out with our Casserole Ministry? We are ready to restock the freezer for the winter season.  Filled containers can be brought to church.  If you need an empty container, they are available in the kitchen.  Any one is welcome to give a frozen meal to anyone in the community who could use a handy, prepared meal. For more information please speak with Cheryl MacLean: cheryl_maclean@sympatico.ca.

All volunteers with Westminster United Church, in any capacity, should be annually informed of the church’s abuse and neglect laws.  The United Church protocol is called “Faithful Footsteps”.  We ask all congregation members that also volunteer to visit the following link to stay informed:

Wallet getting too thick to fold or close?  Have 5¢ and 10¢ bills lying around your house?  Place any Canadian Tire money you would like to donate into the jar above the family drawers.  Our administrator collects it weekly and uses it towards the purchase of small items Westminster requires such as dish soap, batteries, water filters etc.  Every little bit helps!
